Reconstruction during full operation until fall 2011
Düsseldorf, March 9, 2010 – Green light for the "rejuvenation treatment" for
Düsseldorf’s Kö Galerie: the shopping center, which was opened in 1986 at the Königsallee
street, is given a new, modern appearance by fall 2011. The project partners Merrill Lynch and ECE are investing
a total of 60 million euros for the restructuring and modernization, which will take place during full operation
in five construction phases. The new Kö Galerie will provide a sales area of approx. 20,000 sqm with around
90 shops, cafés and restaurants on three elegant shopping levels. The center also includes approx.
30,000sqm of office space as well as around 1,000 parking spaces. The long-term management of the Kö Galerie
is in the hands of ECE since fall 2006.
